Beso – Crystals Mall, Las Vegas

January 9, 2011

I have to admit, as much as I don’t enjoy the whole glutton theme of Las Vegas, they do have some great restaurants.  So many restaurants to try, so little time.  So we picked a couple of restaurants that were new and had potential.  And also tried a few in the hotels.  One of the first ones on this Vegas visit that we went to was Beso.  M wanted to go because there was buzz about it last year – also because he has the hots for Eva Longoria.  I thought it was a great idea as well because I wanted to check out the decor.  Many of the materials used to design the restaurant were sustainable or reused and I like to support establishments like that.

The interior was very nice and the service was great.  The five of us shared all of the appies and entrees that we ordered so it was nice to be able to try a bit of each dish.

So if you’re looking for a more common style of finer dining, then it would be ok to try this one.  I like to try creative dishes, so this restaurant was not that exciting for me.  Plus, the food was good, but not great (sorry Miss Eva).  There’s a lot of competition in Vegas and it’ll be hard for this restaurant to survive I think.  Maybe the one in Hollywood is a lot better.

Sorry buds, just after this post, I was informed that Beso in Vegas closed down.
